Hey guys! So we all love Harry Potter, right? Riiiight? Even those of us who don’t love it have heard of it, it’s so popular! Probably the most well-known book of the century! I personally grew up with Harry Potter! My dad began to read the first one to me when I was four, and we finished the series by the time I was eight! Apparently, my mum always asked my dad to skip over the more bloody bits, but I always wanted to hear them. Seems I haven’t changed all that much after all.
If you were to have a conversation with a book nerd, one of the first things we might ask you is your Harry Potter house. I’m a Ravenclaw, btw! So today, I’ll be sorting YOUR favourite book characters into Hogwarts Houses! Thanks to @moonys.books on Instagram for the idea for this blog post.
I put a question up on my Instagram story, and I’ll be Sorting some of the characters you asked me to! Sorry for the long-winded introduction! Let’s get right in!
AZRIEL A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
“If I had not met a shadowsinger, I would not have known that it is the family you make, not the one you are born into, that matters. I would not have known what it is to truly hope, even when the world tells you to despair.”
I love Az! The shadowsinger, the friend, the warrior. He’s honestly an absolutely precious child – not that he’d appreciate my saying that! – Azriel is brave, strong and fearless, but I think above all he is loyal, kind and accepting. He is always there for his friends, and constantly has their backs. He looks after Elain and teaches Feyre to fly, etc! For these reasons I am sorting him into Hufflepuff!
WILL HERONDALE The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
“It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them.”
Will is probably my dream guy, let’s be honest here. Loves reading? Check! Dashingly handsome? Check! Caring and loving? Check! Brave and honest? CHECK!!! The list goes on. I’m divided over what house Will would be in. He is brave, loyal and selfless, just like a Gryffindor, but also smart, loves reading and witty like a Ravenclaw. I honestly can’t come to a decision over this, so please help me resolve it in the comments!
MANON BLACKBEAK Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
“But perhaps the monsters needed to look out for each other every now and then.”
I think it’s easy to say what House Manon would be in – but for me, it’s not the same reasons you might immediately think of! I’d put Manon in Slytherin, and here’s why; She’s a natural leader, and will do what it takes to be in charge. She’s cunning and sly and will find a way to beat her enemies at all costs. She would kill for the people she loves and do anything to protect them. Many people would sort her into Slytherin because she is bloodthirsty and could definitely be seen as an “antihero” (and Slytherin’s are often known as the villainous type) but I think there are better reasons for this being her House.
PEETA MELARK The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
“Our lives are not measured in years, but are measured in the lives of people we touch around us.”
I think we can all agree that Peeta is a precious bean who did not deserve his suffering. Before the events of Mockingjay, Peeta is loving and loyal and kind, and I would definitely sort him into Hufflepuff. The Capito messed him up but he’s still my little child.
TRIS PRIOR Divergent by Veronica Roth
“She taught me all about real sacrifice. That it should be done from love… That it should be done from necessity, not without exhausting all other options. That it should be done for people who need your strength because they don’t have enough of their own.”
Because of the Factions in Divergent, it’s easier to tell what House Tris would be in. Not only is she brave and dauntless; she’s also self-sacrificing and protective. Tris would be a Gryffindor!
NINA ZENIK Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
“If men were ashamed when they should be, they’d have no time for anything else.”
I HAVE read Six of Crows, but it was about two years ago and before I read Grishaverse. I don’t remember a lot, but I’m now reading the Grisha Trilogy (I just finished Siege and Storm), and I’ll get to Six of Crows soon! Anyways, I don’t know Nina all that well. From what I do know, she’s a badass Heartrender who lover waffles? Anyways, I won’t go into my reasoning because I don’t have any, but from everything I remember about Nina, I’d sort her into Ravenclaw!
That’s IT for this blog post, I’ll have another up soon! Do you think I sorted your favourite characters right? What Hogwarts house are you in? (I’m Ravenclaw!)
So long, bookworms!
